One of my close friends who is a fairly recent graduate into the medical
profession said something to me that was truly profound. When we all bagan
university in the medical faculty we were pretty naive. I did not follow thru in
it but many of my friends did and as I was saying,my one friend said to me that
as a muslim she is ashamed of being apart of the medical profession.A profound
statement because it is always been the accepted idea that being a doctor or
nurse etc was a noble vocation and it is, but some of the disturbing things
going on in this field should be looked into and I think radio islam should
perhaps explore this topic,the role of muslim doctors in our community. I was
reading a book and it was a daunting read because I found the legal jargon on
medical insurance very difficult to understand.The book explored reasons why
this system is such an oppressive system according to islam,so the opinions in
the book...

Assalaamualaikum,

I am a sister from the UK married to a revert and we
recently had a baby girl. Last year we made intention to change our life and
become stronger on r deen we took out the tv and started off good however as the
year went on we became weak and started to watch tv through the
internet....However just before ramadhan this year we had a lovely baby girl
maashallah and this was a big reason to buckle up. Me and my husbund both made
a strong niyat to refrain from haraam and start practising deen as we wanted to
raise our daughter in a correct islamic manner.

I was introduced to your
radio station by a family member and am I so glad!!! We have the radio playing
in our home now 24/7. We have learnt so much and the programmes encourage us to
practice the deen. We share the knowledge we learn from the radio to our
friends and family and have definitely promoted the radio station.

I would
like to extend...

The prgrams on Radio Islam seem to have a new flavour about
them.Very witty ,humerous and most of the time spiritual.We even look forward to
the traffic report which is so unique. Alhamdulillah, keep it up.

Alhamdullilah, I have been blessed with good children by the qudrat of Allah
(SWT). I sincerely hope that you would consider having a maritial section on
your site. U know, boy reads about girl and vice versa. There are so many
young adults that is unmarried and they all complain about the same thing... the
opposite gender is too non-islamic, or they are not their type or they too much
for dhunya and not ahkira.. etc. Plse open a site where the following info is
available and once confirmed that all info is correct, and parties are truly
interested in marriage only can the rest of the private info be divulged, on
your site (4 the eyes of the interested party only). This can be done at a cost
as well, most of the youth interested in marriage are of age and working
any-way. Unfortunately the world has cum to this, where 1 has to search out-side
of fam and neighbours, and immediate community as 1 already knows the bad that

Dear RI,
I have a query:
I am a "modern mum" Alhamdulillah my 8 year
old girl is very special- She has much fikhr for her deen. Sallah, Fast, good
habits are her order.
Last yearshe kept 15 fasts, this year she has missed only
2. She is weak for school but @ home is full of energy. My question: Our
purpose on ths earth is to obey the commands of Allah Ta Allah.
Fasting is a
pillar of Islam and supercedes all else. She chooses to fast and not go to
school instead of going to school and not fasting.
Am I justified in keeping
her home because she Chooses fast and spends her time in Allahs
remembrance.
Perhaps she is my guide from Allah.

The honour awarded to women in Islam is tremendous and for this we should be
thankful to allah ta allah and to nabi (saw) for implementing the rights given
to women. My intention on writing this comment is definately not to demean
women.I am a women and therefore will not appreciate any attacks made on women.
Furthermore I know it is unfair to generalise but this needs to be spoken about.
Unfortunately the behaviour of many muslim women today leaves much cause for
concern. Entering a muslim owned shop the other day I was truly shocked that the
woman running the shop could not even extend a greeting to her customers. This
is typical by my observations. Muslim women do not greet each other,instead a
quick analysis from head to toe of a person is done,examining the shoes,clothes
then beauty of a person.Based on this quick run through we decide whether or not
to acknowledge a feelow sister.Women can deny it as much as they want but ...

riaz - requst for gujerati programmes

salaam.I think it would be a great idea if radio islam could broadcast gujerai
programmes and bayaans.There are so many elderly people in our community who
cannont understand english or urdu and having a gujerai programme at least once
a week would be extremely benefecial.My granny listens to radio islam 24hrs a
day even though she doesnt understand english at all,so a gujerati programme
will insha'allah make her and other hundereds of others like her very happy and
also educate them on deeni matters.There is a zulu programme every saturdays so
come lte's have a gujerati one as well.salaam and keep up the good work of deen.
